Join PA IPL for our next meeting in partnership with Jewish Earth Alliance (JEA) taking place on Wednesday, June 15th at 7:00 PM!
TOPIC:
New Proposed EPA Rules and Measuring and Reducing Methane Emissions
-
SPEAKERS:
John Rutecki, Regulatory and Legislative Manager at EDF
David Lyon, Senior Scientist at EDF
Inspirational speaker: Arthur Gershkoff
Methane emissions from the oil and gas industry threaten the climate and waste natural resources. For over a decade, the Environmental Defense Fund has researched O&G methane emissions and advocated for strong regulations and other solutions to reduce emissions. John Rutecki and David Lyon from EDF will provide an overview of EPA's proposed methane rule that would regulate hundreds of thousands of existing sites, plus a summary of EDF's recent research into the detection, quantification, and mitigation of emissions.
JEA provides ongoing training and templates for monthly letter writing campaigns to local, state, and federal officials. The meetings provide a template, information, and guidance for all those who are interested in amplifying the message of Climate Justice.
Once you learn how easy Jewish Earth Alliance makes it, through their background information and template letter, for everyone to write letters to their federal officials, we hope you will write to your members of Congress now and for the next few months.
